So for all those claiming corporate wellfare, I,m certain you hate all sports, including the lowlife jazz who took government money to build the delta center.

Certainly the money was wasted and taxpayers were left holding the bag--right?

Delta Center Utah Jazz 1991 102.6 million(cost to build) 24.6million(Taxpayer money) 23.98%(amount of delta center paid for by tax dollars)

take a look at every pro sport stadium in the country, government paid all millions.

Did they anticipate and get a return on investment?

Or were they just making it so poor folks could attend events?(social justice and all)

I'm going to go out on a free market limb here, and state, they all have a positive return on initial investment=tax break for average citizen(depending on if you live in a republican state, or a democrat shithole--for sure.)

I actually haven't seen anyone here claim the government shouldn't provide incentives for companies, but you keep attacking that strawman if it makes you feel better.

And the same as with every deal that has ever been made, the devil is in the details. Some are good some are shitty. In fact, take a look at the broken jobs promised of trump in Scotland for a good example. The Jazz deal worked great for all parties, as it seems RSL's stadium has. But I wonder how the people of St. Louis feel about still paying for their stadium now that Rams are in LA. Oh and ask Miami how they feel about the cost of Marlins Park. In fact, I would bet greater than 50% of the publicly financed stadiums in the past decade are not paying out what was promised.

Hard to believe that AOC actually graduated with a degree in international relations and economics, because she clearly doesn't have a grasp on either. No wonder she believes in free education, because someone clearly deserves a complete refund for her diploma.

AOC says she wants to take the $2 billion the city was giving Amazon and spend it on schools, firefighters and such. But she doesn't grasp without Amazon there is no $2 billion for her to spend.

How much simpler can you get then that?

I actually think Uintafly is a reasonable guy, he just has a different set of values than I, nothing wrong with that. He can make a reasonable argument to support his point of view, which many of the left can't do.

I always considered Brian in SLC to be a bright guy until he was unable to make a reasonable argument to support his view beyond "I hate Trump". He was all over this place supporting Obama and his apology tour when Dems held the White House but disappeared when Trump came a long. I still like Brian, but I lost a lot of respect for him over that.
