    Imlay access...

So I hear that storm damage has closed the West Rim trail leading up from the canyon...meaning the Imlay sneak is shut down. Is this true? Are they letting permit holders make their way around the damage?

If so, then that's a bummer, 'cuz I'll be in Zion for a week around the Rondi and wanted to do that canyon. I know the long way around is an option, but nah.

Anybody know what the deal is?

They do not let people up there ... I'm thinking because it is a construction zone. From the pics I saw, other than putting up some ladders, there is no scramble around the washouts.

We and others have been doing Imlay Full from the top. No problem with that, just that it is a couple hours longer than the Sneak.

    (Trip Report)

I have heard rumors they are trying to get the AL trail open for Labor Day... but I think it is quite a challenge to do that, so they might not make that. Which means it might be open by middle September.

    Thanks, Tom...you da man.

Hope I get lucky...I went thru the full canyon last July and prefer the sneak. The shuttle kinda sucks, but I'll admit that starting the hike in the dark and watching the sun rise from up there sure was sublime.
