    7/28/18 - Orderville Gulch

It's been about 10 years since I last went through Orderville Gulch. I'm not entirely sure what has changed or what has remained. The waterfall and waterpark sections look the same, but it appears new logjams have appeared since that last major rain event.

It was just 4 people in 7hrs and 55 mins from car (upper trailhead) to the shuttle. My watch GPS recorded 18.1 miles. Does that seem accurate?

Anyways, it was a scenic but long slog to reach the fun section - the water park. I'm glad I revisited it, but in my opinion I can go a few more years before doing it again.

    Enjoy the pics!

Personally I like Orderville better than the Subway, mostly because Orderville starts slow and gets better as you proceed, which is kind of bassakwards of Subway which rewards you with a long slog to finish.

The ideal way to see Ordeville is through Englestead as the exit of Englestead dumps you right at the top of the water park.

Your time sounds a little slow as last time I did Orderville it was 7.5 hours with me and a group of 7 total canyoneering noobs. That's from the upper TH to the shuttle bus.

I agree that each new corner of Orderville got better and better. And it was really nice having the entire canyon to ourself until we get to the 15ft waterfall.

And yes, the group I went with was a little slow but not horrible.

If I was with my core canyoneeing friends, we could of shaved off a good hour or more.

And the water was great! It felt lukewarm. Never cold.

    Very scenic canyon for sure.

11.5 miles. When your GPS loses signal, it probably wanders off for a while until contact is re-established.

It was a good day to be in a wet Zion. I think we passed you going up canyon (after doing Birch). We passed a couple groups anyway. Our party of 4 finished the day with an afternoon run through Pine Creek.

    Sweet!

I'll be there next month for the Rondi... but I'll likely stay a full week. Disneyland in the desert.
