    Current Conditions in Utah Canyons

Anybody been to any canyons lately after some of the recent rains? Any conditions to report?

The Squeeze? Imlay? Heaps? Escalante? Cedar Mesa? Etc.

    Thanks in advance.

Zion appears to be mostly full of water now. Did Mystery, Birch, and Pine Creek yesterday/today and all had much water. Outside of Zion, the state is bloody hot and/or on fire. Can’t imagine canyoning would be enjoyable.

Can't speak to those ones but in case it helps anyone:

-Birch Hollow (7th Aug) - fair amount of mud, some water at the bottom of the chockstone rap
-Egypt 3 (8th Aug) - not a hint of water anywhere in the canyon. Egypt Rd is in fine condition, we had an SUV but saw sedans had made it as Egypt 2 and the drive between Egypts 2 and 3 looked no worse than the preceding section of road.

Curious about the conditions of Buckskin Gulch in April. I know that is a ways away still. Is April an ideal time to do Buckskin Gulch?

Mid May is always my preferred time for Buckskin Gulch. It just depends on the temperature as the hike out in the heat sucks. So are we talking first of April or end of April?

    It'd be April 17-23 roughly.

If this is Travis I'll get you the info on Monday, if this is not Travis send me an email from the website.

FYI - The complete Buckskin information is available on the website to all and doesn't require a membership.

Are you planning to do Buckskin as a very long one day route or the more leisurely and enjoyable 2 day adventure?

If doing it as two days and it's hot just start the hike out early before it gets too hot.
