I think these are all of the accusations they wish they could have pinned on Trump but nobody cared. Now they see a guy that is a better human being than anybody on this forum, and they have all of their built up anger and accusations dumping out on him.

The difference with Trump and Kav is, everybody expects it as Trump but he knows how to run huge economies. The truth is, nobody cares about Stormy Daniels, true or false. Let me rephrase that, his supporters don't care, they just know it's irrelevant to fixing the economy.

Just further evidence the whole thing was a scam to delay the vote as long as possible, to put further doubt in the fence sitters minds (Flake, Merk, ...), in the hopes to nix the nomination all together. To me the biggest red flag is the constant BS he is trying to spin that he was some kind of choir boy in high school and college. He obviously wasn't, and seemed to be drunken degenerate. Which is perfectly fine, tons of guys party too hard in high school and college and turn out just fine. Probably a few on this board, but at least be honest about it. Just say, "yeah, 35 years ago when I was a teen I partied too much and drank too much. But I had nothing to do with these allegations." I would be more apt to believe him if he said that, but I just assume that since he is lying about partying he would have no problem with lying about sexual assault.

It doesn't really matter though if Kav gets in or not. It's not like their aren't several dozen other qualified judges that will vote 100% as Kav would. There's no real winning endgame here for Dems since the senate math is so stacked against them this cycle. No way they take the senate in November, so getting this nomination dropped only postpones the inevitable push to the right on the court.

The end game the Democrats are playing for is that they take the Senate and pull a Merit Garland on anyone Trump puts forward. That is also why the Democrats keep requesting we just slow down on Kavanaugh and research the facts. They already know the facts, they are just hoping for a blue wave in the mid terms so they can block any Trump nomination.

The fact that Ford has been mentioning him assaulting her to multiple people over the past 5 years makes me think that something happened. What exactly, and who was involved, we will never know. It happens all of the time that a woman walks away from an incident feeling she was assaulted and a man walks away thinking everything was consensual. That could be the case here.

From a macro level, Merrick Garland may very well have a longer lasting effect on the court by not getting a vote than if he was confirmed. Now that the precedent is set, I could see either party flatly refusing to confirm judges until the next election cycle. Let's just say that the Kavanaugh goes down and the dems somehow take the senate in November. Not a chance in hell a Trump nominee gets a vote for the next 2 years. It was trending this way for a while, but the honorable turtle from KY finally made the supreme court the biggest political football out there.

I don't doubt something happened to Ford 35 years ago, but before I hang a man you should be able to tell me a few more details. Ford can't answer where it happened, when it happened, or who was there. Everytime she has tried to answer one of those questions multiple people have stepped forward and said that's not correct.

When I hear a story now days from my HS buddies, from 40 years ago, their version usually varies greatly from mine. In their version of the story they are usually the hero, in my version it's usually me that was the hero ;-)

I purposely dismissed my High School experience roughly around my first week of college when I suddenly realized Freshman coeds were about the horniest things on the planet. That being said, I didn't have to intoxicate or drug any girl. Who knew?
