    New Addition

My new addition to the family- Sig P320 full-size 9mm. I've been looking for awhile. Wanted a full-size handgun I can open carry (under an un-tucked shirt) when I'm up AF Canyon doing trailwork or hiking by myself. Since I have a key to the SR92 gates, I go up there a lot in late spring and, because the gates are still closed, I'm very, very much alone. I've been chased by a bear, attacked by a wild turkey, had 2 mtn. lions jump onto the trail 10 yards away, several bobcats at close range, threatened by a badger, had a wolf run across the trail in front of me and come across occupied hobo camps. I'm going to run 124gr +P defensive ammo. Peace of mind. BTW, this is the new handgun just adopted by the Army and Marine Corps. It will be replacing their current inventory of Beretta's. https://www.military.com/daily-news/2017/01/19/army-picks-sig-sauer-replace-m9-service-pistol.html

Nice! I too bought a new (to me) daily carry. This is a Korean War era US Army issue Colt Combat Commander in .45

2020 Jeep Gladiator (2" Lift, 37" Tires, Falcon 3.3 Shocks, Lockers, Sliders)
2018 Polaris Sportsman XP 1000 (Hunter Edition)
2014 Polaris Sportsman XP 850 HO EFI EPS (Browning Edition)
    2009 Dodge Ram 3500 Mega Laramie/Resistol DRW (~800HP/1400TQ)
Yukon Charlies 930 Trail Series Snow Shoes
    5.11 Tactical Coyote Boots

Cool! Can't go wrong with any John Browning design. Do you like full-size for everyday carry? IWB?

The Combat Commander is a shorter, lighter weight version of the 1911. I also recently purchased a WW2 US Army issue 1911 and the difference in size/weight between the two is quite noticable. Apparently, Army officers required a lighter weight side arm than enlisted.

So, for EDC, I like the Commander or my .40 XDM from Springfield.

I just got back from the indoor range. I put 150 rounds through it (115gr target loads). Love, love, love the way this thing shoots! I have ordered the large size grip mod (comes standard with a medium) for my ginormous hands, in FDE color. I think I'm going to order an Apex flat trigger for it as well which will reduce the trigger pull weight. Because I like to tinker.

I was eyeballin' that Sig P320 a few months ago. I've got to get off my ass and get around to buying one. I read about it in a magazine...they said it was awesome.

Canik TP9SFx - Century Arms import from Turkey. Saw this for a great price, so I did some google research. A lot of folks are liking it as an out of the box race gun. Went ahead and bought it. Smooth action, buttery trigger, and the Vortex Viper sight is pretty nice. I was able to keep a 2-1/2" group at 15 yds - which may not be much for some of you... but is fantastic for me and my skill set!

How do you like the Vortex on the handgun?

Still getting used to it. It tkes a moment to find the dot... out of habit my eyes want to go to the front sight. Accuracy is there once I find the dot!

"Wanted a full-size handgun I can open carry (under an un-tucked shirt)"

You do of course realise this is not open carry right? As soon as you cover it it becomes concealed.

Outside the belt and pants. Doesn't really matter though. I have a CCP.

I just picked this up Wednesday. Sig P320 Compact 9mm (next to it's big brother- Sig P320 Full-Size). I sold my M&P Shield. After putting hundreds of rounds through the Shield, I could never get the accuracy where I wanted it. Not sure if it was the small size or what. I tried everything. Plus, I wanted something with more round capacity. I have loved the Sig P320 full-size I bought last March. I shoot well with it. The Sig just feels more solid than the Shield and fits my large hands better. Haven't shot it yet. Waiting on my Apex flat trigger and StealthgearUSA iwb holster to arrive. Hopefully I'll be able to adjust to the bigger size (vs. the Shield) in carry mode and it won't be that big a deal.Name: 2 Sigs.jpg

True gun control is only buying one when you really want two.
