Black Void, Tributary of Fall Canyon, Grapevine Mountains, Death Valley Feb 17,2018
Descending Black Void, the rappels come fast and drop big, more of a cliffaneering experience.
We were back down in the Fall Wash pretty quick after climbing up the short cut-route to the ridges above Fall.
Fall canyon in the Grapevines has a different look and feel to the rock than other areas in the Park. Not too crumbly by DV standards, in the shade mostly
The canyon starts in a shallow slot followed immediately by the first rappel down a fluted dual stage. That is followed by a few pinch and knock chalk anchored rappels and ends with the partial free hang final rappel.
It is a very nice half day canyon.

Fantastic...I'm jealous. As soon as it warms back up, I feel a road trip comin' on.
Suddenly my feet are feet of mud
It all goes slo-mo
I don't know why I am crying
Am I suspended in Gaffa?

I'll just put this here...
It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.
