That's cool. I assumed you had to walk up and check it out first? I assume if it gets too skinny, it could be absolute HELL to try and back the horse up.

Yeah, we had one person walk up ahead and make sure. This canyon was blocked with a dead tree snagged in a narrow spot. But we were able to turn around just before the tree and ride back out.

    Not Buckskin Gulch

Bull Valley Gorge from the bottom?
Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

Any other guesses? I'm interested in the location as well.

How about another clue, how long was the slot section of the canyon that could accommodate a horse?

This is close to the Virgin River. There are two slot canyons pretty close to each other. This was the smaller of the two and we could get the horses in 200-300 yards before we encountered a large boulder blocking the horses. The other canyon goes in 600 -800 yards before you encounter a dead tree wedged in the slot.

Hikers could, of course, go much further if you climbed over the obstacles.

This is the second canyon that is longer
