I've maintained all along the blacks have a legitimate bitch, I just think they would be much better served to pick their battles a little more wisely.

Millions of people watch football, and look (or looked?) up to these players, so they could have made a real difference in getting their point across and raising awareness. Unfortunately they chose one of the stupidest ways to get a point across and their message has been completely overshadowed by their method of protest.

It's pretty sad that they could have made a real difference in a more positive manner. People will focus on and remember the controversy and disrespect before remembering their cause.

So the Packers want everyone in the stadium to link arms. Try to imagine how these players feel right now with all the cameras on them and tension everywhere. Now that's how you get things done, eh? Lots of tension...

My first thought when this exploded was lock arms to show solidarity while standing respectfully for the flag. Exact same message without instantly alienating half the population.

So what now? I am willing to bet that we don't see much kneeling for the rest of the season during the anthem, but the Dallas game proved that taking even taking a knee before the anthem is not appropriate. So when is fair for these guys to protest what they see as injustice? Is there a way black people can protest without upsetting the snowflakes on the right?

Only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun.

Part of the problem is there isn't really an assignable cause for the spike in homicides. Blaming BLM isn't it. I'm not sure blaming cops is helpful either.

I haven't been near/around Chicago for a number of years so couldn't comment on that situation. Remember a few years back, going to St. Louis on a business trip, and decided to drive through East St. Louis for fun to see what up with that place. Whoo. Scary. Crazy to think there's that kind of place in the good ol' U S of A. Sad.

St. Louis has by far the highest murder rate in the US of any city. Over double Chicago.

Good ol' Salt Lake City (2012 data)? 4.2. St. Louis? 59.3.

SLC had a big spike in 2016. Even so, set to the #/100,000 bench mark? We're at 3.
