    True dat!

Everyone knows old white men wear New Balance. There are entire websites, forums and Facebook groups dedicated to the subject. It's a running joke among my friends and I.

I'm all for free markets as well, too early to judge yet.

And don't really care either way, I prefer to make money off whatever stock is running.

    This.

Demographics bear this out as a safe bet. And it was calculated given they sat on him as a quiet ambassador for years.

I don't tend to second guess these marketing maneuvers from corporations that employ so many social/cultural psychologist.

Let's talk in 2022 when it's time to renew the NFL TV contracts. The new contract will not be nearly as generous if viewership continues to tank. The current TV contracts are based on what was and not was is.

As I understand it that is way down the road. Hard to predict that far into the future. But we know FOX signed the current 5 year contract this January right in the middle of the Great Trump Twitter Wars and the NFLdid just fine. FOX had the necessary broadcast numbers by then.

I don't doubt the viewers are changing but the picture you've been painting the last year or so is heavily cherry-picked. Their revenue is speaking for itself.

You are confusing numbers of viewer and revenue. Revenue is based on past viewers and estimated future viewers. Football is in a serious decline from little league to the NFL, that is a fact, how much of the NFL decline is because of the national anthem controversy is anyone's guess. But it doesn't really matter as the concussion syndrome will eventually kill the sport as parents are no longer allowing their kids to play the game. It will take a generation, but football will die unless technology can somehow stop the concussions.

Not confusing anything at all. FOX signed a 5 year contract with the NFL this Jan with viewing #s in hand including months of data after Trump's Twitter War influence. FOX knows they and the NFL will continue to make $$ hand over fist.

Despite the gang of 12 angry republicans declaring the NFL dead, they still seem to own the tv landscape. 37 of the top 50, and 13 of the top 20 rated broadcasts were NFL games. But I am sure the networks are ready to flee in droves...

Yeah, I'm sure Nike is trembling with a boycott whose hashtag has garnered 200-ish tweets.

Wonder how many are burning their Converse as well?

And the beauty is the NFL can't do anything since they just signed a 10 year contract with Nike in May. Makes me wonder how long they had been sitting on this campaign before all of the pieces fell into place.
