Entrajo/Pleiades Combo--July 27, 2017
Quick trip to Moab for some canyoneering fun.
I've wanted to do Pleiades for a while now, but didn't want to make the drive just for that, so we decided to make a quick descent of Entrajo to get warmed up and make it a full day.
Unfortunately, we arrived at the Entrajo drop in point 30 minutes too late and was stuck behind 2 guided groups that let us know right off the bat that they were not going to let us play through. We made the best of it by splashing in the fresh potholes that looked like they had been filled very recently.
Entrajo Canyon
My son, Brandon rapping 1st drop in Entrajo.
Pool had a lot more sand that that last time through. only about waist deep.
Adam on the last rappel. We extended the webbing to avoid making the rope grooves deeper, hopefully people will use it.
Pleiades Canyon
Started hiking at 2:30 and arrived at the 1st drop in Pleiades at 3:00.
Someone has constructed a very nice exit trail. They have spent a lot of time and effort. Thanks to whoever did this!
This was not in the middle of the trail on the hike in...
Fantastic day. Pleiades is a stunningly beautiful canyon and a great way to spend a hot summer afternoon.
Arrived back at the car at 5:30.

There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

Not really rude, more like telling us in a nice way. The leaders of the 2nd group were actually pretty cool guys. Once we were all waiting, we had a chance to chat a little and found out they had been waiting about a half hour for the first group to get past the first rappel. So a little frustration was had by all.
And to add to that...there was a third guided group that showed up behind us. That canyon is seeing a LOT of traffic.

I notice some in Pleiades ran it without wetsuits. Was it too cold without or just fine?

My son, wore 3/2 and was glad he did.
I had my wetsuit in my pack and afterwards decided I should have worn it. Not because I was cold, but I wouldn't have worked so hard to avoid getting in the water. So to me, it would have been even more enjoyable with the suit on. I did get slightly chilly at the last rap, but quickly warmed up on the exit hike.
Adam had his wetsuit, and said he never considered putting it on.
We all wore neo socks and glad we did.
Awesome conditions right now, flow was perfect.

In Pleiades good rain gear or a dry top actually works better than a wet suit, this canyon is a bit of an odd duck when it comes to protection from the cold. YMMV
