Fivemile - Capitol Reef NP Closed

Capitol Reef National Park Acting Superintendent, Paul Ollig, has signed a closure order for Fivemile Wash to protect sensitive resources in the area.

The closure is currently in effect and will continue through August 31, 2017. The area closed to use is from the head of Fivemile Wash (the crest of the ridge between Fivemile Wash and South Draw) for 2 miles downstream to the east.

36 CFR 1.5(f) Closures and public use limits.

The best parts of Five Mile are still open, they are just a little tricky to get to.
