    Hunting OK for Feral Pig

Heading to OK tomorrow for a wild/feral pig hunt. I bought a GoPro mount for my rifle. I'm told I should be able to bag 200-600 pound pigs over our 2 days and one night hunt. Trip Report forth coming.

My primary weapon will be a Henry .45-70 shooting 325gr Hornady. My youngest son will be shooting a Rossi .243 with 100gr Hornady and my bud coming along is shooting a Marlin 30-30 with an unknown round.

All of us are bringing a sidearm, either a .40 or a .44..just to be sure.

    Sounds fun.
I hunt pigs in Southeastern OK. fairly often, my daughter and her husband have a 2000 acre ranch there.
    How will you be hunting?
    I like your rifle choices.
    Have a great time.
    Looking forward to your report.

My cousins all live out in the country in South Carolina. They hunt hogs all the time and have invited me out. I usually end up back there every fall on business so, next time out I'm going to take them up on it. Just need to figure out the best way to get my AR15 back there.
    Are we there yet?

I just returned from Oklahoma. In total, we bagged 5 pigs. It took 4x 64qt coolers to pack it all and have it placed as check-in luggage with Delta.

As a side note, the day before, I phoned Delta to ask them about Ice & dry ice in coolers as check-in luggage; I was assured there would be no issue with either provided the cooler was properly sealed. Upon arrival at the Delta ticket counter this morning, the gal said "No DRY ICE"; as we had both dry & regular ice in the cooler, we hauled the coolers out to the curb and removed the one little slab of dry ice (it had mostly melted since we packed the coolers 24 hours prior.

Then, upon returning to the counter, we encountered a new ticketing agent that said "NO ICE", but "DRY ICE" is okay if the cooler can vent. Clearly, with our flight boarding in 45 minutes, there was no time to get new dry ice and we weren't about to leave our coolers open "TO VENT", so we then spent 30 minutes empty ALL ICE out of our coolers in the hope that the frozen meat (~150 pounds) would survive the next 3 hours without issue. Cost to check in 4x coolers $260. Cost to Delta: I would rather have been slapped at United than go through the fiasco we had to go through at the counter and laying out 150 pounds of meat at the curb while we emptied all the ice!

As today is Easter, I will hold on my phone call to Delta, but tomorrow the butt-ripping will commence!

Photos and further trip report soon.
