I just don't understand why Utah's bigs seem to always be in foul trouble. Johnson was half asleep last night and still had 3 or 4 fouls.
Collett was making an obvious difference in the game...(when he actually played) just to foul out when they really needed him. Haven't seen the total yet, but he couldn't have played more than 20 minutes. Rawson wasn't on his offensive game, but he was making a big difference on the defensive side. Fouled out when they needed him.
I realize some of the calls against them were total BS, but most were legit. I just don't get it.
AND then there was that very last play, with 9.7 left. Why the hell did Cedric dribble the entire length of the court and take it to the basket? Could that have been planned? Were they expecting to go into OT and win? Still scratching my head.
On a positive note...Bibbins was amazing once again and loved how he would just strip the ball right out of Oregon's overrated forwards hands.

The Running Utes will host UC Davis on Wednesday, March 14 at 7 p.m. MT. The 32-team bracket was announced Sunday night on ESPNU.
Notre Dame, Baylor, USC and St. Mary's earned No. 1 seeds in the 32-team NIT field released Sunday. The field features 22 teams with at least 20 wins, 12 automatic qualifiers and representation from 21 of the 32 Division I conferences.
Utah earned the No. 2 seed in the St. Mary's quadrant, while UC Davis is the No. 7 seed. The game will be streamed live on ESPN3. The winner between Utah and UC Davis would go onto face the winner of No. 3-seeded LSU and No. 6-seeded Louisiana. With Utah earning the No. 2 seed, as long as there were no facility issues, a win in the first round would allow the Utes to host the second round.

I started watching at the start of the 4th quarter (seems weird to say that...). Looks like it was the only quarter worth watching.
Glad they pulled off a win.

The Pac 12 sucks.

Big game tonight for the Yewts -- NIT Round 2 against LSU at the Huntsman Center, 7:00pm.
Utah has home court, and is a 4.5 favorite.
I think this should be a tough grind-it-out game, but I think the Utes should win.
Thoughts? It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

Utes have been pretty consistent throughout the year about not blowing a big lead...hope that continues.

Blowout at the Huntsman Center. LSU looking like a junior college. So much for that "hard fought game."

Utah 95
LSU 71
Hopefully the Huskies can defeat St. Mary's tonight since the Utes swept the series with Washington during the regular season. It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

OK, so it's on to St. Mary's on Wednesday.
Personally, their 30-5 record doesn't intimidate me, since they play in a weak conference. I mean, here's a rundown of some of the teams they play in the regular season:
- Pacific
- UC Irvine
- San Diego (NOT San Diego St)
- Santa Clara
- Seattle
- Dayton
- Portland
- San Francisco
....see what I mean?
Check out who they lost to:
- BYU
- Gonzaga
- Washington State
- Georgia
- San Francisco
They just don't seem very intimidating considering their schedule and the conference they play in. Unfortunately they will be playing in California, so no home court advantage this time. It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

8 Pac-12 teams went on to post season tournaments and now there is only 1 remaining.
Washington, Oregon, Stanford and USC all went down in the 2nd round of NIT.
GO UTES!

Now, on to the next round.
If the Utes play like they did last night, they'll kick some booty.
The Utes have also shown that they can win on the road, which they've struggled with in the years previous.
It's going to be a really tough game. The Gaels are really good.
I'm going to give the edge to the Utes, only because it looks like they are focused and want this.
Runnin' Utes: 69
Gaels: 66

And yet, the Utes just can't seem to ever get that PAC 12 championship. It's a pretty frequent occurrence where Utah chokes in the PAC12 tournament but consistently does very well against other conferences in the post season. To the point where Utah is the "last Pac standing." It's unusual and very frustrating. It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.
