Escalante Backpacking
Has anyone ever hike up Sand Creek from the Escalante River to Hell's Backbone road? Is it possible without getting technical?

It is non-technical, but difficult because of bushwhacking. There are more enjoyable canyons in the Escalante. Sand Creek does have some nice sections though that you can see from the Boulder Mail Trail or Escalante River.
Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

Ok thanks. I am planning on doing Death Hollow, but we will only have one car, so I am looking for a way to make a loop.

Otherwise, hitch-hike or use one of the shuttle services in Escalante.Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.
