    4) Supported LGBTQ's marriage equality rights (fyi - Millennials couldn't give a sh*t about who marries who and much of the antiquated right wing moral values arguments).
    5) Successfully saved the American Auto Industry.
    6) Made measurable improvements in increasing renewable energy and increases in fuel standards.

I could name a bunch more but I've come to the realization on this board that one person's accomplishments could be also viewed as one person's failure.
    Descent list.... #1, #3 and #5 I agree with.

    But....

#2 is history as it no longer has the funding required to support it. Healthcare is a lot like immigration in that Congress needs to fix this mess and stop trying to use it as a weapon against the other party. The only thing Obama did with the ACA is shift the problem of paying for healthcare from one group to another. Many that had good healthcare have now been saddled with shitty healthcare. Socialism makes everyone equal, and by that I mean equally poor.

#4 did nothing but confuse the issue. Obama is as much damage as good so I'll call it a toss up.

#6 shows you really have no understanding energy outside of reading the media talking points. 80% of my work is in mining and energy and what was done to the energy industry could best be described as a SNAFU at best.

    #5???

at the taxpayers cost, gm and it's unions should have been allowed to go broke.
There is no such thing as too big to fail.

#2 will go down in history as the largest scam on the average wage earner, rising premiums and annual costs, all subsidized.

#6 is laughable but thanks--I needed that

#1 un employment fell. What policy helped that?

#3 yep, he was president when bin laden died.

Nope! If we had of let the US auto industry go belly up it would have pulled this country into another Great Depression. It's all the large and small satellite businesses and industries that through no fault of their own who would have also been sucked into bankruptcy that was the major issue.

History has taught us the biggest mistake by our government during the Great Depression is they didn't step in soon enough.

The government really had only two choices, fix a big problem at the moment or fix a massively huge problem a year down the road.

    YMMV

I never heard a word about any potential buyers for GM...so we'll never know if new owners could have turned it around. Probably not, as they were so far down a hole. Besides, a liberal administration was bound to stand behind the union there.

Letting it hit the skids would have taken down tons of parts suppliers. I've heard that they repaid most, if not all of the money they borrowed. Anyway, I'd love to read a factual book detailing how that all went down...who was calling the shots.

These days, they need to vastly improve their trucks. Never bought any of their stock or products.

problem was--new buyers can't come in when the United States and UAW owns the company.

Letting it go under, would have certainly crushed UAW.

But as Byron says, liberals ARE pro union and that was not an option--at the time, although I believe it would have been a good one.

Letting weak, financially un responsible companies thrive on the US taxpayer is not ideal.(solyndra, et al)

GM and Chrysler both repaid their loans ahead of schedule and with interest. The basic issue was the US government was probably the only one big enough to bail them out... in hind sight this was executed to prefection.

If GM and Chrysler had of failed it would have taken 20 or 30 very difficult years for the country to dig out of the massive hole created.

Pure uncheck and unregulated capitalism has it's pitfalls...

    Unbelievable.

Good on Sarah Sanders for keeping her cool and dealing with it with class.

Can you just imagine the rage if a restaurant had of kicked Loretta Lynch to the curb?

But since Sanders is a privileged white woman is somehow OK.
