The funny thing is down here in Mexico the average Mexican doesn't give a crap about the wall one way or the other, I've asked around... The average Mexican seems to only care about having a good job with steady employment, and the hope that the gringo tourist dollars continue to flow freely.

In the tourists beach resorts, that's probably true. I was also in Mexico last month and a lot of people are worried. We spent a lot of time in Puebla and people there were really worried since a lot of people work at the Volkswagon factory. They were already worried because of the emissions scandal that was the fault of the executives at Volkswagon itself. They were terrified that the Trump admin tariffs (this before the recent anouncement) would shut the plant down.

All of the agricultural business and auto businesses are probably worried, but the tourists businesses not so much. In fact it is a good time to go to Mexico because of the exchange rate.

The funny thing about the exchange rate. Whenever you want to make a transaction where the exchange benefits them they want to use the new 22 pesos to the dollar. When rolls are reversed they try to use the old 17 pesos to the dollar. Viagra is $5 a tablet here versus $30 in the states.... that kind of bullshit with regards to all pharmaceuticals is what I really hope Trump puts a stop to. There is no reason for such an outrageous price difference.

That wasn't the point. It just happens to be a common drug I looked at the price of today. My bitch is no drug should cost 6 times as much just because it's sold to rich Americans, that is bullshit. This is typical of almost every outrageously priced drug on the planet.

Only if you don't know how to negotiate or shop around. We were getting 20.25 in December and the exchange rate was lower back then. As a general rule, the peso to dollar and dollar to peso exchange rates should be within 4% of each other, which means they should make 2% on either transaction. If you exchange it at a hotel or tourists place/resort you will get ripped off.

I'm surprised that the difference is only that much. Something like Larium is 40 times more expensive in the US than in Latin America.

The cream I have to use for a skin problem is more than 200 times more expensive here than in Asia and I can get it without a doctor appointment there. The funny thing is that I had been going US doctors for years and it worked OK, but not that great. I ran out of the stuff in Nepal, but the pharmacist they had might work better. It immediately cleared up a problem I was fighting for years (with many expensive doctor appointments) and it only cost me 30 cents. The same exact medication here is (I had to show it to the doctor here so he could prescribe it for me) cost $70 plus a doctor appointment to get.
