Fry Canyon Runway...

Has anyone been down to the Cedar Mesa/Fry Canyon area? Has anyone taken a look at the airstrip? A possible picture of its condition? That would be awesome...Thanks!

Have camped right there at the runway where a dirt road turns in off the highway and crosses the runway to a campsite. We've been there the last two Memorial Day weekends. Don't have a photo of it but from what you see crossing it in a vehicle, does not appear to have received any maintenance for years. Plants growing up, ruts, runoff damage, etc. I don't know anything about landing an aircraft, but I don't think I would want to try and land on this one, if that's what you're after.

Since the Fry Canyon Lodge closed several years ago, I don't think they use that airstrip much anymore.

Back when the Fry Canyon Lodge was open and when Hite was still a popular Lake Powell Marina, that airstrip used to be used occasionally, but those days are long gone (as are the days of the Uranium boom which is when the airstrip was built). The low water levels in Lake Powell caused a huge dent in tourist traffic in the Hite region.
