We have our dedicated hunter tags, I still like that program

Always buy an over the counter elk tag. Sometimes archey, sometimes rifle spike

One year closer, I now have 16 points for sheep and 7 for premium deer

I've already drawn 3 Utah elk tags. (Dutton, Boulders & Panguitch), so I need to get a good deer tag going

Didn't draw elk or Bison, But did draw a rifle deer., I'll have to see if I can back it up with a cow elk tag.

I drew a Nevada unit 33 rifle antelope tag. #1 unit in the state. Only 2 non resident tags given out. Now my only problem is the hunt is in 8 weeks and I'm still in my walking boot for 2 more.

I just put in for the cow elk tags last week, I suppose it will be a bit before I hear if I got one or not. This is the first year I've entered the draw too.

We put in for cow elk as well.
Might do a spike elk hunt but have a hard time getting excited for such.

I got goose egged in NV...again, but I did draw an archery deer tag for Pine Valley. That'll be fun. Been up that way a couple of times already scouting, once up on top in June and then this past weekend down in the sage brush flats. Posted a couple of pics over in the motorcycle section since I've been moto camping while doing it.

Same for me. I didn't draw any of my antlerless tags in any state.

Sounds like I got all of the luck here, first year putting in and I drew out a cow elk tag for the Zion unit Oct.-Dec. 31. That significantly ups my odds, I probably saw close to 30 cows last year.

My 14 yr old and I just got our hunter's safety certificates. I know we've missed the draw for deer but we'll probably put in for cow elk in June. This is our first time putting in for anything - any words of advice?
It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

Congratulations to you and your son getting your hunters safety.

Beginning July 16th, you can purchase a General Season Bull Elk permit over the counter or online (no drawing for it...yet). The general season elk hunt is my personal favorite hunt as the weather is usually still pretty nice then.

    https://wildlife.utah.gov/remaining-permits.html

I was unsuccessful for limited entry Deer on the Henry's and also once in a lifetime Moose for Central Wasatch, but I did draw a Wasatch West any weapon (general season rifle) buck deer tag.

The "good old days" of just walking into the corner drug store and buying a rifle deer tag are long gone. Now, it can get confusing as hell and easy to screw up. If it wasn't for my youngest son, I'd just go coyote hunting and screw the money sucking "once in a lifetime" and limited entry drawings that I'll be in a rest home before I ever draw.

Buy a three season general elk tag. Hunt from the middle of August into November.

Next year apply for a Dedicated Hunter tag for you and a any weapon deer tag for your son. If you draw a dedicated hunter you can hunt the archery, muzzleloader and rifle deer season and the Late archery hunts.

Youth that draw the any weapon deer tag can hunt all the seasons as well.

Don't forget to throw a few grouse and turkey hunts into the mix as well.

Daughter drew Pine Valley muzzleloader deer
    I have Pine Valley dedicated
    Wife drew Pine Valley dedicated
    I drew Lasal Bear
Wife drew Utah archery Mt. Dutton Bull Elk

Still have lots of states left that havn't drawn yet. I'm sure we will end up with a few more
