Upper Chute Canyon
Saturday May 14 2016, descended Upper Chute Canyon from the Temple Mountain road to Chute Junction with a Wasatch Mountain Club group. Above Baptist Draw there was a lot of water, one pool up to my chest (I'm an average adult male). Climbing up from Baptist would require more than usual skill because of all the water.
Just below Baptist Draw there is a chockstone which is now a mandatory rappel of roughly 20 feet. Climbing up from below looks not possible, at least to my eye. Some good person created a nice rappel anchor with a block of stone wedged in securely and equipped with a sling and screwgate. No holes were made in the rock! Thanks kind person, whoever you are.
We went down to Chute Junction and exited east towards Flat Top.

Good to know. We went down Baptist and up Chute on April 17. There wasn't much water, but one log overhanging a drop was tricky since there was mud on our feet.
Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.
