Rappel Under a Natural Bridge and pay a visit to the Moki Queen

    Hogwarts Sunday, April 24, 2016

The Moki Queen and her dog , I think it is her dog, I thought it was a turkey when I first saw the panel, it might even be something else, is a great pictograph panel to visit after canyoneering Hogwarts canyon. It is on the way back from the canyon exit just short of the parking area and access is easy.

Hogwarts is in great shape. Dropping in under the bridge and into the chamber below is an amazing experience. Before launching off the first rappel we moseyed over to the southeast edge where one can catch a glimpse of the top of the bridge from above.

Thanks to my canyoneering partners Jeremy, Carl, and Alijeh

Thanks to Jeremy and Alijeh for some great pictures

If you mean the one through the solution pockets? When I went through this canyon years ago that anchor was in a different set of holes on the opposite wall and the rappel was down a crack that wasn't much fun..

What did you use for the first rappel?

Yep, it was that one. Our guide pulled off the one that was there and set up a much better / longer anchor. The first one we had it on one of the rocks at the top, but they added an additional belay at the top as they have see the rock shifting previously.
