Take a look at this. I quickly did a search and this seemed to be a good answer. I will check later to see if this is still the case. I may be off in my definitions. Short answer, It isn't a criminal act to be in the country illegally.

I've been to Mexico several times, but never anywhere south of that. I've had plenty of friends that have, though. They have told me of their experiences in places like Peru, Costa Rica, Colombia, Nicaragua, etc...I have a friend who owns a house in Panama. I've heard that Chile and Argentina are decent...but a lot of these other places are just like Mexico...filthy and beyond corrupt.
I don't blame these people for wanting to get the hell out of there. I WOULD TOO! But the concern (at least for me) is that they really need to be vetted if we're going to let them in. Used to be that criminals headed "south of the border" to escape prosecution, now it's the other way around.
Also, we really do need the "Wall"...we need these people to be funneled into proper ports of entry, period. The shit is really going to hit the fan if terrorists are able to shoot up a mall in Phoenix with machine guns and grenade launchers that were smuggled across. The gangs and cartels essentially run the whole damn country. I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet.
Also, if we "open" the borders...where are all these people going to go? Scatter all over the place, I reckon. How's the town you live in lately?...gettin' kinda thick with people? How about more and more poor ones and all the expense that incurs.
IDK, man...all I can say is that the "Mexican" parts of Denver are getting more and more like where they came from...dirty, trashy shitholes.Suddenly my feet are feet of mud

I have lived world-wide. I can easily state that in the last ~10-15 years, migrant populations moving into European countries and even the USA are NOT assimilating. Instead, they're creating their own islands in the countries they immigrate to (legally or illegally). I just came back from India. India used to be a majority Hindu population, but they're no 50% Muslim, 50% Hindu. Eating there is impossible now and eating Vegan is the only option of late. Have blatant 'Merica Tats like I do, makes it even that much worse to be in country.,
In Germany, the African and Muslim illegal immigration is in full effect such that some of the small very European towns I used to love to visit now have gangs of Muslim immigrants (and this is NOT a good thing).
Now, lets narrow this to the US issue; same thing, just far more different cultures running amok in our country and unchecked, IMHO.2020 Jeep Gladiator (2" Lift, 37" Tires, Falcon 3.3 Shocks, Lockers, Sliders)

Let me answer as simply and succinctly as possible. I am for the wall, I am for vetting, and I am for strict boarder control. I am for immigration. I am the son of a legal immigrant. I am for a more streamlined and quicker path to citizenship after vetting. Now the answer: Hard work is good. Paying taxes is good. Working and not being able to pay taxes is bad. Not working and expecting governments handouts is bad. It is not that difficult to figure out the bad and the good.
Really short answer, illegal immigration is not good for the country, but what is far worse is that we do nothing about stopping it and even less about legitimizing the hard working folks who would benefit society if it wasn't such a difficult, expensive and long process to obtain legal status.Life is Good

Now that sounds down right reasonable to me...and I also agree that the meme in question was indeed "Over the top", but at the same time has some truth to it as well.
It's too bad that so many of these "illegals" start their own little businesses here and don't pay a nickel in Federal taxes. Working under the table...cash. I say give them an incentive to come out of the shadows...at least their tax dollars could help pay for the ones who don't do jack shit but lay around and have more kids.Suddenly my feet are feet of mud

The biggest problem with illegals is they swamp the system and do not contribute to funding the system. It's now estimated that as many as 1 out of every 10 people in this country are here illegally.
They swamp our education system, our healthcare system, our infrastructure, our services and they don't contribute their fair share to maintaining the system.
I get it that no one wants to live in a shithole... but other than government corruption and socialism there is no reason any country in the Americas should be a shithole.
Maybe we should stop always being so politically correct and instead go kick some ass and fix this problem. The only part that really bothers me about all this is our government is becoming as corrupt as the shitholes.
