Thread: Brigham City Municipal Airport

    Brigham City Municipal Airport

I might find myself + 3 friends flying in to Brigham City Municipal Airport in four aeroplanes in mid-September. Any recommendations for a place to stay? We may need to be in-and-out fairly sharpish, so a local Motel will do. All four of us have camp gear too.

It's an area of Utah that I don't know at all, although Bear Lake (just north of our track) is an old stomping ground of mine.

It's possible we'll just be using it as a fuel stop, depending on our timing, routing, weather and VFR conditions across the mountains (coming from the Rawlins direction).

I live in Brigham City. There are a couple of ok hotels. There is a Day's Inn and a Crystal Inn right off the freeway at the south end of town. There is also a new Hampton Inn right in the middle of town. I'd stay there. It's new and it's pretty descent from what I've heard. It's not as close to the food on the south end of town, but let's be honest, it's a small town and you're not that far from anything no matter where you stay.

Let me know if you need more help and I can point you in the right direction.

What about flying just a few more minutes south to Ogden? You'll have a lot bigger selection for lodging.

Thanks for the suggestions, Ogden is an option. Is it a smaller airport than Brigham City? (we prefer smaller airports, they tend to be more friendly to the little aeroplanes we fly).

[Edit: I won't be in the aeroplane in my <<<<<<< Avatar. That's just an avatar. I'll be in one of these 90mph machines:

I'm unfamiliar with Brigham city's airport but I've flown in and out of ogden a bunch and it's a small operation. I think there is another section where larger jets fly from, but on the west side where my buddy has a hangar, we've let ourselves through the door a number of times when nobody was at the desk.

Brigham City's airport is smaller than Ogden's by a ways.
