Should Guns be allowed in Church buildings?

    Perhaps...

Pastor shoots intruder at Texas church

A gun-toting preacher at a Texas church shot an alleged intruder who tried breaking into his Baytown house of worship early Tuesday, police said.
Benny Holmes, the pastor at The Church of New Beginnings, blasted the trespasser once in the shoulder after he heard a man try to break in about 6 a.m., Baytown Assistant Police Chief Roger Clifford told the Daily News.
The wounded man was rushed to the hospital. His condition was unclear, but police believe he will likely survive his injury.

It’s not the first time the leader of the Christian church has taken the law into his own hands.
Holmes made headlines last September when he caught a grandmother stealing packages from his porch and held her down at gunpoint until officers came.

The pastor, who was not harmed during Tuesday's shooting, was alone at the church during the break-in, Clifford said.

In Utah, at least, guns are allowed in churches unless the church itself specifically forbids them. I remember it caused a minor stir a few years ago since the LDS church was the church who banned them. At the time at least, the other churches present in Utah did not.

As long as a church doesn't specifically ban it, guns are legal in churches in Utah. Once a church publicly bans them, it legally becomes a gun free zone.
Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.
