Canyon Leader-Guide Certification
The ACA will be conducting Canyon Leader and Professional Canyon Guide certification assessments between 30 July and 4 August in Cedar City Utah.
Who should be interested in the assessment?
PROFESSIONAL CANYON GUIDES
If you are currently working as a canyon guide and have at least 50 days of guiding canyons under your belt, passing the assessment could result in ACA certification as a Level 2 Canyon Guide. We are offering this one-time exemption from the usual ACA training requirements for those who feel they have already acquired the technical, leadership and rescue skills needed for certification.
ACA CANYON LEADERS
If you are currently certified by the ACA as a Canyon Leader (having completed the ACA training requirements) or Level 1 Instructor, passing the assessment could result in ACA certification as a Level 1 Instructor or Level 2 Canyon Guide.
BOY SCOUT LEADERS, CLUB LEADERS AND OTHERS
If you have completed the ACA training requirements, this is an opportunity for you to receive your Canyon Leader certification from the ACA.
