What SLC Mexican restaurant has great Molcajete?
This is one of my new favorite dishes and I'm having a hard time finding anyone in Salt Lake that has it on the menu.

The ability to order a beer and/or margaritas with my molcajete is a major plus/requirement. I don't believe that is possible at the Redwood location.
FWIW- Brodys in Cedar City has awesome molcajete. This is also the location that got me hooked on this dish.

"molcajete" is not actually a dish. It's the basalt thing that they're serving it in. It's used with a "tejolote" to crush things for cooking. In English these two things are called a "mortar and pestle". This is not a term generally used to describe a Mexican dish so it's hard to say where it might be found. "Mexican" restaurants in the USA generally serve dreary Tex-Mex food. There are great restaurants in Mexico.

Yes, we're aware of what the vessel is called. This is pretty common throughout the world to call the dish after the vessel it's prepared or served in. Paella, hot pot, tupi olla, cassola/casserole...

Actually in Utah (and many other area's) the dish is noted as molcajete on the menu. It might not be the proper term in Mexico, but if you use the term here people in the area understand what you are looking for.
If you look at this menu you will understand:

Same reason you rebuilt and drive a 1970 Vette. You get something out of it. And you can do it cheaper than hiring it out.
Of course, what people enjoy varies.
