Any folk here of wartime Dutch heritage?

1945. Holland. 20,000 die from starvation, almost a million "malnourished". Lancaster aid missions drop over 7000 tons of food.

In recollection of this, a bulb mosaic to mark the "Operation Manna" campaign has been created in 2015 at Lincoln Cathedral.

Lincolnshire was the base of the converted bombers that took part in that rescue mission (and was the base for 10,000 bombers that bombed Germany, of course. Most of those bombers & their crew were American).

A little like the Berlin Airlift; maybe less people affected, maybe less known, but as equally important to remember.
