Zion April 8-11

My son, age 9, and I will be in Zion from April 8-11. We are brand new to the sport of canyoneering but would be interested in joining a group if possible to go through one of the canyons. We currently have a subway permit for the 10th for the two of us if anyone else is going through that day otherwise we will likely hike up from the bottom. We are open to other options other than the subway as well.

You could try getting a permit for Keyhole canyon and testing the canyoneering waters (figuratively and literally) there before committing to a much longer canyon-hike like the subway.

And seeing how things are warming up - you will have much more water (read colder water too) to navigate as well.

After much feedback I am starting to second guess the idea of bringing my son on my subway hike. If I did leave him behind is there anybody interested in doing top down Subway on April 10th (Friday). It would just me me and without him I would have 1 open spot available on my permit.
