Some upcoming training and certification opportunities offered by the American Canyoneering Academy:

Canyon Leadership, 6-9 May, Cedar City UT
Preceded by an optional practice/prep day.

Rigging & Rescue, 13-16 May, Cedar City UT
Preceded by an optional practice/prep day.

RAT (Rapid Access Team) Systems & Tactics, 20-23 May, Cedar City UT
Preceded by an optional practice/prep day.

Special discounts are available to Scout Leaders, volunteer members of SAR teams, and others who will use the skills learned to serve. Full scholarships may also be available.

College credits are available for these and other ACA courses through Southern Utah University.


Completion of the Canyon Leadership AND Rigging & Rescue courses will result in Canyon Leader certification from the ACA.

Completion of the Rigging & Rescue AND RAT Systems & Tactics courses will result in Canyon Rescue Technician certification from the ACA.


The ACA continues to be the only internationally recognized organization in the Americas to offer certifications for Canyon Leader/Guide and Canyon Rescue Technician.
