New buggy build
I sold my last buggy last weekend. I already had all the parts to start a new build, but I guess it's time to put it in high gear as it is wheelin season here in St. George. Torched and ground all the brackets off the frame yesterday. Cleaned up the axles and mounted the front today. Hopefully get the motor and the rear axle mounted tomorrow

So it's just a little guy.
I guess cruiser axles with 3 and 4 links would be a different animal.

In rock crawling everything you change is a give and take situation.
A lot of stuff out there is for the bling. If you build a super lightweight <3000 lb rig you don't need big axles and your horsepower / weight ratio is awesome
I've had linked rigs before. I had fully built buggy, V8, 4 linked, Dana 60's, 42" tires, full hydro front and rear steer.
I sold it to build my last toyota buggy with no regrets and this one will be even better

I just like the idea of the cruiser axles for their 64" width as opposed to the 56" width of the mini truck axles. The birfies and knuckles have about twice the material in them too.
Someday I'll have e-locked fzj80 axles under my '81 on 37"s
Again, I'm stoked to follow your build because I dork out on everything toyota.

And I don't like being that wide. You add some stability in some situations but hurts you bad in the tight super technicals obstacles. For street/expo rig for sure on the cruzers, just not on my buggy

I've been sick the last two days so Devin has been working by himself on my stuff. The rear frenched hangars are in and the rear axle position.
The motor, trans and cases should be going in shortly
