The Wave in Coyote Buttes North is very popular with photographers. It is a beautiful smoothly curved grooved mass of orange sandstone. In my picture, I portray it in an unusual and contrasting manner by finding a new perspective that makes it look edgy, angular, filled with straight lines that extend even to the cirrus clouds above.

I did not take this photo; someone else (Ben) who was also on the mountain did. This is Volcan Fuego as seen from Volcan Acantango (12 second exposure):

My daughter and I recently returned from climbing nine volcanoes in Guatemala/El Salvador, but this was the most spectacular.
Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

I meant this tongue-in-cheek. I really would like to take better photos. Congrats to the winners, all!

Too late to vote or submit, but of many great ones I particularly liked Jeff Thayne's Escaping Alcatraz, Lonnie's Eye of the Arch, and Scott P's canyon reflection (my guess is it's Cathedral?).
the Horseshoe Bend is obviously very beautiful

This one? Nope. It is part of what I believe to be the best technical canyoneering route in Canyonlands National Park. It's part of a technical loop with big rappels, down climbing and upclimbing, several crystal clear waterfalls, and lots of springs and pools like the one in the photo.

My son, a friend, and I did the loop in two days and may have made the first full descent of ______ Canyon. Any guesses that might be close? There really aren't that many candidates for this within Canyonlands National Park.

    Colorado.

Lower Salt Wash it is. Part of the Elephant Canyon/Lower Salt Wash loop.
