    Death Valley Suggestions

I'm looking for suggestions for a planned trip to DV over xmas. Cerberus sounds good, but I was wondering if the long, 270 ft raps have anchors at the various stages? Or do I need a 2 300ft ropes? Which other canyons are on the top of your list?

The 270' raps do have a few stages to them, and I vaguely remember a bolt at the lowest stage on at least one of them, however if for whatever reason that bolt was pulled, or my memory is off, there was little to no anchor material at those spots so counting on it probably isn't a good idea. If you get there and its there use it and save the wear on your 300' rope since those canyons are rough, but I would at least bring it. Oh and the lowest stage was still around a 200' drop, maybe a little more maybe less.

You will need at least one 300' rope, and 300' of stuff to pull it down.

There are plenty of canyons in DV that do not require a 300'er.

Cerberus is my favorite DV canyon, but yes it definitley required a 300' rope when we did it last February.
