    Name that Zion canyon?

    Hey Bogleyites,

I have seen a few photos of a slot that ends with a rappel into the Zion Narrows.

I'd love to know the name of it.

Not sure if there are several but the rap looked to be maybe 50-75 feet. (Hard to remember from the photo.

    Thanks

I assume you are seeing pictures of Mystery

    The rappel is 115'.

Imlay also ends with a spectacular 110' rappel into the Narrows.

Thanks, I think this is the one I was thinking of.

I wish Imlay was in my near future but my normal group is not up to that level. I'll have to tag on with another group for that one.

Mystery has one of the more spectacular finishes on the Colorado Plateau. You seldom do the final rappel without a crowd of 40 or 50 people watching. There are more spectacular finishes, but none have the large admiring crowds.

Heaps probably has the most spectacular finish, and I've never done the final rappel when I didn't receive applause from the gathered crowd when I touched down, but the crowds are usually much smaller than Mystery.

Can't say that I have finished too many rappels to the applause of tourists.

Although I have stripped down to my skivvies for a rap with a swimming exit to keep my clothes dry. (night was approaching and temps were dropping) I didn't get any applause though and the "crowd" of onlookers was small.

Zion has a several crowd pleasing finishes. Imlay, Mystery, Subway, and the best one of all, Heaps.
