    Volunteer Training for Canyoneering

[COLOR=#000000][FONT=lato]Working on a project to assist with economic development and enhance quality of life for individuals and communities around the world through the provision of training for canyoneers, canyon guides and canyon rescue teams. Especially interested in serving underprivileged youth and unemployed adults in Native American communities and in developing countries.

In January-February of this year we trained 37 guides in Lamjung and Ghalel, Nepal during three 10-day courses and donated more than $4500 in gear. Many of the guys trained during those courses are now working as canyon guides (and having a blast).

Check out the group in Ghalel on Facebook at Pokhara Canyoning.

Next courses in Ghalel are coming up in a few weeks:

Entry Level Guide Training, 28 October to 6 November
Advanced Level Guide Training, 14 to 23 November.

More projects are upcoming in other developing countries in Asia and Latin America.

Looks like a great way to get paid to play.

"As you journey through life, choose your destination well, but do not hurry there. You will arrive soon enough. Wander the back roads and forgotten path[s] ... Such things are riches for the soul. And if upon arrival, you find that your destination is not exactly as you had dreamed, ... know that the true worth of your travels lies not in where you come to be at journey

Also looking for volunteers to help with future training projects. Hosts provide ground transportation, primitive accommodations and meals. There is no pay and you will need to cover your own airfare. But it is a very rewarding experience to see the difference you can make in peoples' lives.
