A couple of weeks ago we had the opportunity to visit this canyon. The hike up the hill in the heat was a little taxing, but well worth the experience to come. Navigation is fairly easy, and you get to refresh in the river part of the way there (and back).

Natural anchors abound, and it is very beginner friendly. The last couple of raps were spectacular! Summer canyoneering in Zion always seems to work out well.

We saw a lot of people hiking down the road and river. By the way, can you use drive, ATV, or mountain bike the last part of the road? We parked next to the outhouse trailhead (East Fork of the Virgin River), and walked the road for ~1.5 miles or so. Seems it was easily drive able...

Unfortunately, the private entity that owns Chamberlain Ranch provides public access as far as the river crossing (where the outhouse and parking lot are) but no further.

Thank you Tom. I'm remembering reading this on one of the forums, but I suppose being there solidifies the facts in your mind best.

Actually makes sense. The end of the road past the river crossing has little parking availability. There is also a washed out section next to the gate, where erosion would prevent most vehicles from getting around.

That last couple of miles in high heat wears on you after a fun day, but still worth it.
