    Columbia River Gorge!!!

Drove down from Bellingham, Wa arriving in Portland at 2am on Saturday morning. At approximately 1:45am I came to realization that I had forgotten my helmet back in the garage. After some last minute scrambling/emails/frantic texts I secured a girly, purple helmet (equipped with pony-tail hole) that I was the lucky recipient for the weekend.

Our group, many of whom had been hitting canyons for several days in the Portland area, met up at 9:00am. We descended Eagle Creek on Saturday, and Oneonta Gorge on Sunday with our group of 12!!!!! Things went surprisingly well considering our group size. We had some VERY VERY VERY experienced canyoneers in the group which frequently made things seamless.

Ran into the BYU crew (Blake Merrell et. al) briefly in Eagle Creek. They appeared to be having a fantastic time as it was hard not to.

I cant speak highly enough of the crew that we had this weekend. It was fantastic to see friends again and also meet new extraordinary people! Livin' large...

On Sunday we finished Oneonta about 1PM and trucked over to Latourell Falls for a quick 225' rap off the big falls just to fill the afternoon.

The Columbia Gorge is a beautiful place! Enjoy the photos!

"As you journey through life, choose your destination well, but do not hurry there. You will arrive soon enough. Wander the back roads and forgotten path[s] ... Such things are riches for the soul. And if upon arrival, you find that your destination is not exactly as you had dreamed, ... know that the true worth of your travels lies not in where you come to be at journey

I shoot a sony nex 7. I briefly considered the nikon AW1 because it is waterproof/shockproof but I believe it is a technically inferior camera. ... though photo processing is 60+% of the ballgame anyways these days. Moral of the story: get good at editing.
