    Beautiful work!

I passed a guy in a canyon this weekend with a critter, I'll likely need to try one of those.

    Hi OldNo7
We have been starting to see CRITRs in the canyons also- which gives us a warm fuzzy feeling.
If you are in Zion, and want a closer inspection, Zion Adventure Company and also Zion Mountain School are stocking them.
In St. George the Desert Rat and also Adventure Plus sells CRITRs also.

Any particular harnesses that will NOT work with the butt protectors?

Is there anyone in Grand Junction or Ouray that has some?
Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

    Scott and Scott!
the ONLY harnesses that work with our Butt Protectors are those that have leg loops that unbuckle, such as the Arcteryx and the Black Diamond shown in the photo.
This is because the vinyl sleeve at the bottom of the protector makes a tube that you have to push the leg thru.
We tried to make a Velcro closure, etc. to wrap around a 'fixed' harness leg but every attempt was too bulky.
We used webbing at the top to attach to the waistband to allow for more adjustment for wide waistbands and for longer waist-ed folks.
Black Diamond Bod style harnesses will NOT work with any commercial butt protectors.
Be sure that the legs on any harness you buy UN-BUCKLE. Some brands say 'adjustable' leg but the legs do not actually disconnect.
We should have an outlet in Colorado!
    Any ideas?
    Best

I've been using one of these and liking it. The gear loops (however) break pretty quick. Available at the CUSA store:

If their construction is similar to Petzl Aspir loops, Aquaseal or similar can greatly extend life!

    They are, but...

Gear Loops need to not break. Losing a loop full of gear could be life-threatening. DELAYING the breakage is better than nothing, but really, replacing them with something solid seems like a better idea.

The aquasealed loops I've used on Aspir have outlasted the harness.

The failure mode I've observed on Aspir loops is this: gear loop sheath abrades until a hole appears in it; hole gets larger; inner stiffener pops out of hole and is lost; remaining sheath material eventually breaks.

How do the GURU loops fail?

Guru loops are virtually identical to the Aspir loops.

    Hey Felicia-
YES! Desiree loves pink, so we have an entire roll of PINK vinyl.
There are PINK Butt Protectors and more PINK colored products in Canyon Werks future.

Just Aquaseal the whole webbing tube?

Yeah, did it at ZAC's drysuit repair station. Super fast using exam gloves to rub it in well. Seamgrip penetrates the fabric even better...
