    Echo from Stave Springs

I've got a trip planned through Echo in a few weeks and I just figured out that I'll be doing that trip to/from the Stave Springs TH because of the closure at Weeping Rock.

This trip looks to include at least one newbie. I wanted ask for collective wisdom about the upper part. We'll pass right by the entrance to the upper part and my inclination would be to drop in there. But I haven't done it and I'm a little concerned about the "spicier downclimbs" (paraphrasing from Tom's beta) in that section. I hate to throw something too challenging to someone just getting a taste of canyoneering in their very first few obstacles.

Obviously we can belay her, meat anchor a rap, handline, etc. But, I was just curious what y'all think about those downclimbs.

Gonna try to avoid breaking bones and murdering reptiles if possible

Sounds like an opportunity for a few beginners to do a couple "spicy downclimbs" on belay.

An alternative option to make Echo a full day.

Don't let the name deceive you :)
