Right Fork Hike to Barrier Falls

I have a love hate relationship with this hike. Every time I go, I vow never again because of the long start but then this is my third time. We'd never gone all the way to Barrier Falls thinking we had found them prematurely. So remember, if there's any way around them, it's not Barrier yet.
After getting down the initial cliffs the long section of stream and boulders starts.

    Finally, the first small falls.

Just a side note, there is poison ivy so wear long pants.

If you're up for backpacking, you should come through the whole thing. I've done it several times, taking two nights. The first night is above the start of the slot, the second at Double Falls.

There are a few really easy raps and a long, cold pool to swim through. You've only seen part of the really good stuff...the Grand Alcove is awesome.

I presume you went up there on one big dayhike?

Yes, just the day hike. I'm not confident enough in route finding yet to come from the top. One day!
