East Or West On Escalante River?
Going to be backpacking death hollow soon and trying to decide whether to go east to the bridge, or west to the cemetery once I get to the Escalante River. I've done east and it was cool, but wondering if west is better?

They are both nice in my opinion. East has the arch and natural bridge, but since you have already done the east, why not do the west?
Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

What about campsites? Are there good campsites on the west side like there are on the east?

Yes, there are good campsites, including one large (~100' l x 30'h) flood-safe alcove. However, unlike going east, there aren't any routes out of the canyon to the rim.

Thanks! Maybe I'll check out the west route this time then.
