    The big winter of 2005 took a bunch of sand off the sandpile and dropped it in there. Before that, it was a consistent 10' deep. After - not.

    Curtis, it was August 2000. Filled with sand since then. L'Emp says winter 2005 did it in...

    Maybe a new access project for the CAC?

    Are there any feasible place to walk out the rim and just rap into the canyon as opposed to 'death gully'

    maybe. there was an effort to find a DGA back in the early aughts. Yield: a possible multi-stage rap entry on the east side. To date, hasn't been developed AFAIK. Thought was that most parties would elect the DG over any such contrivance - beginner, especially/hopefully. Still, might be a cool contrivance to engineer one day...
