Rope/Gear left behind by Fisher Towers
The wife and I hiked to "Trails End" at Fisher Towers yesterday. Just before passing the Titan, we noticed quite a bit of climbing ropes, bags and gear dangling off one of the towers. Isn't that stuff expensive? Why would that much gear be left behind? Gear was probably 150+ feet off the ground. One tower to the East, there was a group of at least 5-6 climbing, but doubt it was their stuff.

It's a gear cache for the zombie apocalypse, in case they have to retreat somewhere and get higher ground. Not sure zombies could scale that stuff to get to them
My real guess is two fold, someone was climbing and ran out of time to clean the gear, plan to go back for it later, or they had an emergency and had to bail on the route with the same intention of coming back for it later. Can't really know what people are thinking. Maybe a Climbing treasure hunt.Jared Hillhouse

Some of those aid lines on the Fishers take multiple days to complete. Normal practice is to leave fixed ropes behind and jug up them the next day to get to where you left off. Some people even leave ropes up for a week or more before returning to continue the project. Also, slackliners and base jumpers often leave fixed ropes rigged for rapid ascent of the towers.
