One difference between the Goblin being knocked over is that it damaged the state park. Did the basejumper damage anything but herself?
even a dude swinging off of Corona Arch that didn't do the proper weight test on his new dynamic rope, game on.Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

I bet base jumping forums are really sad.
On the positive side, it is probably easy work for the mods, since the trash talking is short lived.

I can understand the appeal, but it just doesn't appeal to me.
The BSBD moniker on that website just about says it all to me...you either die or you are expected to die.
Mind you, I'm glad I didn't know about that sport before I got into bobsleigh, motocross, flying and caving.

Three major events in a base jumpers life
1. You hear about someone dying
2. You know someone who dies
3. You die

Just curious why this thread is in the canyoneering section? Very sad news. My heart goes out to the families affected.

Wow, Wife dies BASE jumping, Husband dies Paragliding the next year. Sad, but good thing they didn't have kids.
On that note, don't sign me up for either of those sports.
