808 canyons
So canyoneering in Hawaii has been taking off a lot in the past 3 years. It used to be a very small circle of people who knew each other that would be canyoneering. However, we have been finding evidence of others running some routes (anchors with nice webbing, reinforced with accessory cord). Since it is now expanding beyond who we know, need to help educate others in weather, safety, and awareness. Know about private property issues, access, and state laws. Currently there is no official SAR with canyons here in Hawaii. So for now, with those running some of the Hawaii routes, or potentially interested in running routes in the future, we give you:
www.facebook.com/808canyons
Eventually we will have a website up, with links to weather, water gauges, other websites about canyoneering, gear recommendations, future beta, etc.. etc..
