Things to do in Death Valley?

I'm headed down with some friends on our motorcycles. We'll be riding from Salt Lake City, unless the weather turns bad, then we'll trailer them to St. George and ride from there.

Looking for first hand experience. We'll be camping there next week and have a day or so to explore. Looking for stuff we can ride to and check out. Take some killer photos,etc.

The west side road will take you by some nice salt pans and has offshoot roads that head up into the hills to some abandoned mines.
