Thanksgiving at Powell not on the Lake. I have been all over the lake

Always wanted to take my 4 wheelers to Powell. I will be doing it more often now. Me and my son took my two granddaughters to Powell so I could put my boat back in the lake after some maintenance. We put the boat in and went for a small ride around Bullfrog bay, put the boat back in the slip and we were off to Ticabo. We stayed the night before so we got dressed in our warm clothes and took off up the main road from ticabo to the first right. Off into the wilds of Mt Ellsworth. The photos I took with my good camera didn't turn out well so these are with my phone. I will repeat this trip again and will be sure it works next time. Its truly gorgeous out there. We went to the ridge above the lake. The next day we drove up the burr trail to eggnog and took a truly muddy trip up bullfrog creek. You will see that we went right up the creek in places. Going to do this one again when I don't have my precious granddaughters along. They had a blast but got cold. On the way to Powell we dropped into Price and under the clouds. We didn't see the sun again until we were in Bicknell on the way home as we took the Notom road from eggnog to capital reef. The road was ok except for one spot where the snow had slid off the mountain and onto the road. Name: 148.jpg

Great pics! I've ridden the Ticabo area a few times.. Up to and over the dinosaur remnants area. Probably some of the roughest riding I've done, to the extent that I blew out 2x CV boots and had to limp home. There's an area nearby where you can literally find chunks of dinosaur hide/scales/skin.

Great area and thanks for sharing the photos!

That would actually be extremely unlikely. As far as known, in all of the world's history, dinosaur skin has only been found twice and nowhere even close to Utah. If you did find it, it would be worth literally millions of dollars (far more than diamonds) and anyone who finds some will become instantly famous. Unless they took any of course, and then they would be sitting in prison, assuming it was taken from public land. If it was found on private land, the owners would become instant millionaires for sure.

The chances of finding a 600 carat diamond or 600 lb gold nugget are greater than that of finding dinosaur skin.

You don't have any photos of what you saw by chance? It likely isn't dinosaur skin, but sounds interesting. I'd be interested in seeing a photo of what you saw.
Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

I may have photos. This section was not on a normal trail, but looked like a section of slick rock near Ticaboo. It sure looked like chunks of petrified scale/skin.
