Canyoneering near Flagstaff AZ
Just wondering if there is any good Canyoneering near Flagstaff AZ. If so are there any detailed route descriptions for them? I have a found a few websites that share some info on canyons in the area but provide vague details, to vague to try and do one. Thanks for the help!

Amazon's 'look inside' feature can be used to get an idea for this book. It looks excellent.

It is an excellent guide to canyoneering in Arizona. You might also check out the author's web site: http://www.toddshikingguide.com/
Also might check out www.hikearizona.com (can click on Flagstaff tab).

Many Many great places all around. To the southwest you have the Oak Creek Canyons, to the Southeast you have the west clear creek canyons and to the North you have this big hole in the ground with a lifetime supply of canyons.

Todd's Arizona Tech Canyoneering shows James Canyon - a stones throw from Flag.
A bit further out and south is Bear and Sundance - both accessible from Flag.
Have fun!

James Canyon is pretty lackluster IMO. I would recommend Little LO Canyon and Babe's Hole Canyon over James. They are also close to Flag, but do require a high clearance vehicle to get to the trailhead.

Here is a trip report I did on James Canyon. It is not as nice as some others, but is by far the easiest to access and only a 10 minute drive from town.
Anything in the area will be freezing cold before June.
