Caves around Sacramento California
So I recently got interested in caving. I've been rock climbing and canyoneering for a while so I think id fit into the whole caving scene pretty well. Problem is I don't know of any beginner caves in the proximity of where I live (I live in Sacramento, CA).
Anybody know of any caves around my area? Mainly something beginner friendly that I could try out. I know of a bunch of popular caves south east of me like Moaning caverns and the such but I want caves that I could with people on our own.
Thanks,
B

Well, the short answer is that there aren't really any caves closer than the Mother Lode. At least none that I know of. For you, your best closest caving areas are the Marble Mtns, Mother Lode, lava caves up north near Shasta, and the Sierra Nevada near Sequoia NP.
You should get a hold of these guys: http://www.motherlodegrotto.org/
They'll be able to point you in the right direction for beginner trips.
Good luck!
