Thread: Moab this weekend?

    Moab this weekend?

I'll be staying in Moab this weekend (Super 8).

I'm almost thinking Elephant Butte Saturday and Neck Spring Loop Sunday.

Elephant Butte is one of most fun climbs around:

Other alternatives would be Owl Rock (we may even be able to do Owl Rock with Elephant Butte), Granary Canyon, or Looking Glass Rock.

Wouldn't mind doing some climbs at Wall Street either.
Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

Scott, what is the neck spring loop? We will be in Moab this week racing mtn bikes on Saturday. But we might have some time Sunday for something.

I'm certainly up for that, if you'll accept the relative inexperience of a wayward Brit. Although I've done some of those routes with you & Shane a few years ago, it was a few years ago, so another go at them would be good.

It's one of the official trails in the Island in the Sky. 6.1 mile loop hike with good views not far from the visitor center:

That's fine. Something like Owl Rock takes experience, but Elephant Butte is a good one for anyone that can scramble.

We have wanted to do Granary canyon for a few years now and would be up for joining you on that, also Looking Glass rock looks like an exceptional day.

Anyone interesting in doing something, meet in the Super 8 parking lot at 8:30 AM.
