Hallasan (Highest Mountain in South Korea)
So, while we haven't gotten out canyoneering again since our last big adventure, my wife and I hiked to the summit of Hallasan yesterday. As I mentioned in the thread title, it is the highest mountain in South Korea. True to South Korean form, the trails were all sorts of improved, with tons of stairs. My wife did a complete write-up of it on our blog, and I'm going to go ahead and just post a link to that. Overall it's a good time and I'd definitely recommend it. You just might have to fight a lot of Koreans on the trail (Koreans love hiking.). Here's the link:

I enjoyed the blog, Cliff!
Were there a lot of tourists, or mostly Korean's hiking?

It was mostly Koreans hiking at this time of the year. I think there are generally a lot more tourists hiking in the summer, and if experience with the rest of the island shows anything, the majority of them would be Chinese.

Good stuff, thanks!
If you haven't done so already, if you visit Seoul during the fairer months of the year, you should definitely hike Dobongsan in Bukhansan National Park.
